Grade 2A
In 2A we are a community of learners working, playing, and learning together everyday. You and your child are a vital part of this community. We will always welcome you into our classroom to help with projects, centers, field trips, or just to check out what we are doing. Please send me and email or give me a call if you'd like to volunteer in the 2A classroom.
Homework is assigned nightly in 2A. Your child will come home with homework in his/her folder and should complete this homework before returning to school the next day.
Mon.-Thurs.
On most days, the children will be assigned one math and one spelling practice sheet that acts as an extension of the day/weeks lesson. Please spend time with your child checking or helping them with their homework. Many times a parent/care giver can explain a concept to their child in a way that may make it easier for them to understand.
RAH RAH (Read at Home Read at Home)
Everynight (even on weekends and during school breaks) your child should be reading or reading with you (taking turns) for at least 20 minutes. After they get done reading, they should write down the title of the book, the numbr of pages read, and ask you to sign for that day. I will check the RAH RAH sheets in the morning and give them a point in the sheet is filled out AND signed. If your child gets at least 20 points for the month, they will make the RAH RAH party!
