Grade 5 - Ms. Blanco

Congratulations to Ms. Blanco who gave birth to William on August 12th! We've been working together closely to ensure a successful year for all of our fifth grade students. We're off to a great start! I look forward to continuing to get to know your children and helping them to learn and grow both academically and socially.

We are excited to welcome RISD students into our classroom this week. Next week we look forward to having friends from the Institute for the Study and Practice of Nonviolence join our classroom. Both programs will run once per week for several weeks. Ask your children about their learning experiences through these exciting partnerships. I will keep you updated, too!

Homework: 

Please make sure that all Math word problems are answered in your child's Math Journal. We are teaching students to use their journals as a reference when studying for their tests. It's very important that all of their work is kept organized. Thanks! 

Other Notes: 

All 5th grade students will be taking Reading, Math, and Writing NECAP tests during the month of October. Please make sure that students get plenty of rest and eat a healthy breakfast. Thanks!
