Grade 7B Mr. Bovay

Math 7.1/8.1

The level of effort is very high in Math as we work on building the essential skills for Algebra.  This week we are working on decimal operations, which will continue until next week.  Next week will be slow progress with shortened periods due to NECAPs.

Science 7.1/7.2

Students have spent the last couple of weeks writing a comparative essay on mass and volume.  Most students wrote amazing papers, while others need more practice following guidelines for writing.  Overall, I’m very pleased with the project, and am excited to move on to the next writing assignment in a few weeks, our Moon myths.  But first, after having completed rotations that taught us background information on the Sun through videos, articles, and reading comprehension activities, we’ll be looking at the Sun and its relationship with the Earth.

Parent codes for Edmodo were sent home.  Please inquire about the handout.

IMPORTANT:  Effective immediately, progress reports will be sent out every other Monday, rather than Fridays.  Please expect the next round of Progress reports to be sent home on Monday, October 1st .

Soccer: My apologies for any inconveniences with that last minute cancellation of the soccer game.  The coach for the other team felt like the best decision was to cancel because they were calling for rain.  Turned out to be a false alarm.  We are trying to reschedule.  No games are slotted for next week.

Have a great weekend, Mr. Bovay
